Tribute cedit card. Worst ever!
Page 2

The Tribute credit card is the worst card to get, even if you have credit issues, that prevent you from securing other cards, and here's why. When you initiate the card,"Tribute" states that you have a line of credit worth $300.00 Simply put "a lie!"

What you do get is a credit line of $78.00, and the rest is deducted by Tribute, in the form of fees that are short of extortion!....This is clearly wrong! When I found out about this, I immediatly stoped the use of the card, and offerd to pay the charges that I was responsible for. Tribute said no, and as a result of that, the charges are now over $600.00 and is now a mark on my credit rating. Do yourself a favor

and avoid this card at all costs!

This company does not have the interest of helping anyone with credit issues, and only further damages ones credit, preventing them from ever attempting on resolving an issue, unless you pay their hyped up fees. Lesson learned.

I believe this company is a fraudralent C/C like most of the reports that I have read. I was told that 3 days in a row that manager was going to call me back, no one called me back yet. However, when you call this toll-free number you are calling a call center. One of the responsibilities a manager is to handle escalated phone calls, all these people do is take your money and do nothing about your problem. I wasn't even behind in my account, I was trying to pay my account off in full and they gave me the runaround. On Monday nite August 11, 2008 I called at 10:00pm and spoke to someone name Cain with a indian voice, can't speak english, and too embarass to get you someone that can speak english, he hung up on me, I called back again and then I got someone named Peter who was suppose to be a supervisor, nasty as I don't know what. He wouldn't help me either very nasty, and stated that there was no supervisor he was it, and that managers don't return phone calls, he hung up on me I had to call back again and speak to someone name Sofia could not speak english, and wouldn't help me either, and just to aggravate me kept saying the same thing over and over again she could not get me to a manager because managers don't call you back. After speaking with Kurt, Harry, Shadden, Maria, David, Joseph, Josh, Edgar, Hiliary, Carolyn, Josh again, Julia, and now Carl who was suppose to be a manager. None of them know what they are talking about, you get all these little Indian people who can't speak english, and will not get someone who can speak english. Do you see I had to make 16 phone calls none of which anyone could help me because none of them new their butts from anything else. On top of all this they claim that they do not an executive office for people to speak with. Now here's the icing on the cake with candles to go kaboom. They now transferred me to someone company within thier company that has nothing to do with my account, so now I am done for real. They have now been reported to the better business bureau, they already have bad publicity anyway, I guess one more complaint wouldn't hurt.

The Tribute card is for people with poor and bad credit. You are going to have to pay fees because you didn't pay your previous bills on time or at all. You have to pay for bad credit, if you didn't have bad credit, you would have a discover card with no fees and low apr...so be smart do not complain because you have bad credit and have to pay for your mistakes

This card is a total ripoff. They called me and gave me a sales pitch, said i was preapproved for $1000. I told them that I didn't want this card. The person asked me why not, and I told them I considered Tribute to be a b/c card, a bk card. She told me they were not, they had no fees with it, and I could pay it online. I eventually caved and they sent me the card.

I put $430 on the card on a cruise, and as soon as I got home, paid $300. Boy, was I surprised to find a $4.95 charge for paying online! It showed up the next billing cycle. I didn't have it set in my calendar what the date was for payment, but the time was getting close, so i hopped online and checked my balance. Another $14.95 was being charged. So now I have had enough, and I call them. "Eweryting is clearly set out for you in the cardmembers agreement, sir. I will not refund any part of the fee, as you agreed to it." came the Indian "woice". I asked them to close my account, as the only thing left was fees to pay for fees. They refused.

Do NOT, under ANY circumstances, make the mistake of getting this card! They are fraudulent in their sales pitches, and charging a fee to pay your bill is just unconscionable! I asked about paying by phone, it is $14.95!! Paying by net is $4.95!! This card is a bandit card. Get it only if you enjoy getting the high hard one when you just want to pay your bill!

I was finally able to have a lawyer draft them a letter to close my account.

I've had no problems with this card other than their damned credit protection program telemarketers.

They've called every day for a week asking me if I am a tribute cardholder and then going into their sales pitch for the protection program. A couple of days ago they called 4 TIMES!

No.. I do NOT want it. In fact I had it on there and CANCELLED IT because when I had a question they kept transferring me to the wrong people and then finally to no-where land in their phone system.

:) I was issued a Tribute Gld card and have had it just under a year now and have had no problems with it. I am trying to help repair my credit and it is helping. I pay my fees on time and I even pay more than the minimum. So far I love it.

this card is shi*t. I applied and they approved me and then had sent me a letter maybe a monyh later stating that they needed more information. they needed a copy of id and a copy of a phone bill or a utility bill. I sent them an email stating i lived with my baby's father and everything was in his name. I asked if I could send a copy of the lease which has my name on also. They sent me an email back answering none of my questions and told me to send the information they told me before. I wrote thema second time telling them that did not answer my question the first time and asked them again. then 2 or 3 weeks later, which is today, I got a letter saying that i am all of the sudden declined because more than one application was processed. Which is a line of crap. I never applied twice..I don't even know why i applied in the first place. I have read so many bad reviews about this card. I just need a way to bring my credit back up some what at least...if anyone knows of a card, please send my the information..i would appreciate it...my email is This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

I have had a Tribute card since 2005. Of course the fees and rates are high it is for poor credit. I have been happy with the card - pay on time no issues just like any other card. I have rarely experienced problems with online access and payments and find them as efficient as HSBC and Capitol one in this regard. Card has served it's purpose and helped elevate my FICO. So, I say, if you can't get another card and need to improve your credit this card is sufficient for that purpose.
